GetWaiveredTX- Draft
In 2017 there were 1,458 overdose deaths in Texas, more than any previous year on record. Buprenorphine is FDA-approved to treat opioid use disorder (OUD). A DEA X-waiver is required to prescribe buprenorphine for OUD. By getting waivered, you take the first step towards providing patients with life-saving addiction treatment. GetWaiveredTX is a statewide DSHS-funded training initiative from UT Health San Antonio focused on increasing the number of health care providers in Texas delivering evidence-based buprenorphine treatment for OUD. If you’re in Texas, we have training near you!

Too many of our fellow Texans are dying from opioid overdose and lack access to effective treatment for their opioid use disorder.
